Living with a chronic health condition can feel really bloody lonely. If the people around you don’t have their own condition, they really have no idea what it’s like. Maybe you don’t have a chronic illness but you are going through peri-menopause and menopause that can feel isolating too. 

The pain. The fear. The shame. The fatigue. The hospital appointments. The medications. The side effects. The known and the unknown. The roller-coaster.

I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in 2017. It’s called an inflammatory bowel disease, but what they don’t really mention is that is also can affect: your eyes, joints, skin, tongue, fascia, fat cells, abscesses, hair (loss), ability to walk, energy, sleep disruption – and that’s before you experience the side effects to the medications. They also don’t mention or offer support for the grief that you will go through – how your life will never be the same again.

I am also in my mid 40’s and moving towards that stage of peri menopause and learning about adaptations to make to minimise potential symptoms and sharing that with my clients.

The good news is, a lot of it is about going back to basics!  

The relationships you have with your friends and family will change (some for the better, some not).

You have to make decisions about what parts of life you take part in and understand the price you might have to pay over the following days. You want to go to that gig, cool, be prepared to spend the next couple of days in bed resting to recover (Spoon Theory).

You used to participate in life and now have to wait and see or exclude yourself from events or activities. Maybe you want to get fit – whether it’s again or for the first time, but going to a group class or a gym feels so intimidating – you either don’t know what to do or you can’t do what you used to do. I get that, living with self-judgement, self-criticism, feelings of shame and hopelessness.

My heart breaks for us, which is why I offer a private space for you to build confidence and strength while learning what your body is now capable of. 

It is tough. But, so are you.

I am here to help you navigate the journey and your health and introduce you to skills, tips and techniques to help you get the best quality of life you can. Empower you to ask questions to make sure you are getting the care that you want and need (I am pretty sure I have ‘challenging patient’ stamped on my medical file).

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How does the 90 days work?

A. We will have 6 x up to 1hr live calls via zoom, which will be roughly once a fortnight. I will send you available dates and we will book them in the calendar. You can reschedule up to 48 hours in advance. Within 48 hours you will lose your session (except in exceptional circumstances). In the calls we will discuss what your goals are and what you need to put in place to achieve those goals. In between the calls you will be doing the tasks we discuss on the call and you will have access to me via Voxer to message me with any questions and I will also check in with you if you go MIA.

Q. How much time will I need to put in? 

A. The fortnightly 1 hour then depending on your goals the actions you need to take to achieve them. When I am working with you I am always looking for ways that you can adapt the things you are already doing, rather than trying to find more time in your days. I will also help you find things that you can ditch from your schedule or delegate. We are looking to streamline your life to remove stress, not add more. 

Q. What if I start the coaching then discover it’s not for me or life happens and I can’t continue? 

A. Your payments are taken monthly, so you are paying as you go (always paying for the month ahead). If you decide that you don’t want to or can’t continue, I ask for 7 days notice before your next payment is due. Eg. You pay on the 1st of the month, you would let me know on or before 23rd of that month that you are not continuing. 

Q. How will I get access to the content?

Q. How much is the one to one coaching?

A. It’s 3 x £495 paid monthly by bank transfer.
